(2) Forest School Friday with Miss Swain
(3) Fishy Friday for lunch or dinner (maybe... if it's alright with your adult Squirrels)
(4) You made it through another week of home learning and now it's the weekend (hooray!)
(5) This particular Friday is VE Day!
I hope lots of you are joining in local celebrations from afar. I know lots of communities are having 'doorstep street parties' with lots of singing and waving to each other from a distance. I am going to make a traditional English cake, called a Victoria sponge, today.
If you're not sure what VE Day is, take a look back at Wednesday's blog post and enjoy learning something new. I suggested you plan a 'Dig for Victory' garden on Wednesday, so I thought you might be interested in seeing my mum's veggie garden. She's been using lockdown to plant as many fruits and vegetables as possible!
Homegrown food is the best tasting kind of food, so if you're able to buy some seeds in the shops or online, give it a go! Paper cups, egg boxes and milk bottles that have been cut open make great places to sow seeds. If you don't have a garden space you can use, sunny window sills are just as good!
Here are some happy Friday activities for you:
I hope you have a fun bank holiday Friday and weekend Squirrels. Send me photos of you wearing your best red, white and blue and celebrating VE Day! I will see you on Monday.
Love from Miss Cartwright
